Our History
Statewide Survey Group was formed in 1999 under the directorship of career surveyor Walter Ninnes. Since then, Statewide Survey Group has expanded and extended itself to contend as an industry leader, with a stout reputation for quality and consistency of services that we extend to all of our clients. As of February 2024, Walter Ninnes has moved into semi-retirement and sold Statewide Survey Group to Daniel Collett. Daniel is a surveyor with more than 26 years in the industry with a background in Civil Projects, Structural Projects, Aerial Photography and Mine Surveying. Daniel operated a small surveying company for 18 years and managed projects ranging from $75m to $350m value. These projects included Airport upgrades, Rail upgrades, Bridges and Major Road Works.
Statewide Survey Group has become one of Queensland’s leading Consulting Surveyor and Town Planning groups, specialising in Cadastral and Engineering Surveying. Our highly trained consulting surveyors, town planners and drafters are equipped with the latest technology and highly mobile field units.
Our field parties are equipped with state of the art technology that facilitates our uncompromising dedication to precision and accuracy. Amongst which include a diverse range of specialised Leica Total Stations, Digital and Automatic levels, up-to-date data recorders, GPS units and Drone Technology. Field parties are supported by experienced office staff and draftsmen equipped with the latest AutoCAD, Magnet & other drafting applications and cutting edge computer hardware to support the most demanding of drafting tasks.
Our highly mobile field units are decentralised, with crews based around Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast & Mackay to reduce travel costs and to maximise convenience to our clients. Our mobility has seen us undertake projects as far north as Mornington Island and as far South as Coffs Harbour. Statewide Survey Group also work amongst the Moreton Bay Islands including Russell, Macleay, Lamb, Stradbroke and Moreton, enjoying the reputation as the leading specialist in the region.
